We have some incredible news to share with our community! The Ability Workshop Society has been officially awarded a $75,000 grant through the Calgary Foundation’s Community Grants Fall 2025 program. On top of this prestigious award, we are also celebrating an additional $3,500 gifted by private donors through the Calgary Foundation Community Knowledge Network. This brings our total funding through the Calgary Foundation to $78,500!
This funding is a massive win for our project, Rent, Materials, Mileage, and Upgrades. For our team, these funds are the engine that keeps our workshop running. They provide the essential operational stability we need to:
Maintain Production: Ensure we continue our annual output of 130 one-of-a-kind, client-specified physical aids.
Guarantee Accessibility: Provide these custom-built supports at little to no cost and deliver them directly to our clients' homes.
Invest in the Future: Implement cost-mitigation strategies that give us the breathing room to focus on long-term sustainability and strategic planning.
Support Independent Living: Help our neighbors with unique needs reduce poverty and live more independent lives.
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to the Calgary Foundation. Their commitment to local initiatives ensures that specialized, custom support remains available to those in our community who need it most.
We are also deeply moved by the generosity of our private donors. Your $3,500 contribution provides a vital boost to our operations and shows the incredible power of community-led support. Whether through a major foundation or an individual gift, every dollar helps us build a more accessible world.
Stay tuned to our social media pages! We’ll be sharing updates and stories as these funds are put to work, showing exactly how your support is making a tangible difference in the lives of our clients.
Our new shop space is now open!
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped clean,
organize and move equipment to make the shop
better for project creation.
