Our new shop space is now open!

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped clean,

organize and move equipment to make the shop

better for project creation.

Ability Workshop is proud to announce that our long term volunteer, Fritz Peyerl has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Accessibility Award for Transportation & Mobility by the City Of Calgary Advisory Committee On Accessibility.

Fritz has designed and built several innovative power wheelchair trainers for various facilities over the last few years to provide children with a safe space to learn how to operate a power wheelchair. The child stays in his regular chair and is placed on a platform with an electric wheelchair motor behind it and a safety bar in front. The child is provided with a joystick/controller connected to the electric motor while a second controller is provided for the instructor.
