Introducing our new product….

The Gripwriter. A tool for assisting in writing or drawing.

Thanks to a grant from Makers Making Change, we have created an assistive device to help folks hold a pen or marker on the page. The Gripwriter comes with 2 pieces allowing use by a left- or right-handed person. It also has 2 holders for a pen or marker.

Currently the device is available as a prototype on a loan basis. The grant gives us the opportunity to provide 20 Gripwriters to eligible non-profits such as schools and disability-assistance organizations. See our blog article on who we have made loans to so far. There has been quite a bit of interest generated already by demonstrations at several resource fairs. We enclose a survey with each product. Based on the feedback we receive and after making more changes, we will decide on how to launch it to the market. More versions could include different sizes to accommodate adults and children and perhaps custom versions to fit a specific need.

We are very thankful to Makers Making Change, who share our passion for increasing the ability of people to function at a higher and more enjoyable level in daily life. The Neil Squire Society is a Canadian not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through technology. Through our Makers Making Change program, we're focused on helping individuals get the assistive technology they need.

If you are interested in testing out the Gripwriter or might purchase one in the future, please contact us and we will add your name to our contact list.
