Activity Board for Gymnasium

Project #0001435

Client need

The school had an activity wall in their gym that needed an upgrade to make it more accessible to students. The wall was 7 by 9 feet, and they wanted the ability to hang iPads and tablets at different heights as needed

What was built

Volunteers upgraded the wall by sanding it and adding plexiglass to provide a surface for attaching items. Three strips were designed to hold carabiners, allowing a variety of items, such as iPads, to be mounted at different heights. Various activities were added, including a voice-output device, flexible door stops, rain sticks, and a sensory wheel. Volunteers also rebuilt a pulley-string activity for students to engage with

How it helped

The updates to the board allow students with medical complexities to access and engage with a variety of activities in their gym.
